What has been the most decisive factor in the determination of your current personal political philosophy?

I guess I can generically say that it is life experience, which isn't limited to dealing with certain politicians and the consequences of their actions, like some others who have posted here. It is learning the world for how it is for myself, including reading, observing, talking to others and dealing with commerce.
