What is the technique used to detect chlorophyll on exoplanets?

I eared that we will in a near future be able to detect the presence of chlorophyll in exoplanets, I want to know how they think they will do that...simple spectrometry?...this sounds weirs cuz the light coming from these planets is awesomely weak
